This is the beginning of the new house building project on the property at 926 E. Avery St. in Pensacola. Our builder is Kevin Bock, and just yesterday I was driving down 9th Ave, the big street that is just one house away from this property, and I spotted this sign that he had put up and wheeled around to take this picture. It's right at the edge of the driveway, and you can see the garage in the background. The old house used to sit up on the hill behind the garage, but in this picture you can't really tell that there's a hill there. We met with the builder this morning to go over plans again and work out a few details about where the house will sit on the property. The permits have been applied for and the builder says it will take about two weeks to get them cleared. No one knows why it takes so long, so there won't be too much activity here until things get moving a little more regularly. Once you get to this blog from the link that I will send regularly in e-mails you should put a link in a favorites file so you can find it again. Remember also, that you can right-click any picture and save it to your own computer or print it out.
Here's a picture of Joe amongst the azaleas blooming along the walkway up to the house site. They're actually faded some from yesterday, but they're still beautiful.

And here's one of me in the same place. I was eating crackers and Joe caught me with my mouth full laughing, so I look pretty funny.

Here's the stairway leading up to the house site. Those azaleas to the left are the ones we were standing under. I took this mainly for a "before" shot of all the bamboo that will have to be dug up. I did a small corner where the rail is in this picture this morning.
OK This is a "before" shot of the house site (taken from my phone camera so it's not really very good). I'm standing at the west side of the property on top of the hill. You can see a huge pile of mulch left over from the big tree removal on the right side of the picture. I'm going to try to get a new shot of this position every time something new happens here.

And finally for today, this is a picture of the side of Vicki and Brian's house with their azaleas in full bloom. Again, not a very good picture, but believe me they are truly beautiful.
